He Watches Over

Mutington's Meadow

When I faced death... She was there. More than a friend... To me she had become a sister. Our hearts sang together as she kept me writting. She reminded me of what I was, and norished my creativity. How does one say thank you..? I thank you for your sacrifices as you eased my suffering despite your own. I am truly humbled in the wake of all that you were... all I took for granted. I love you Joyce!

A Debt

My heart clamors within my chest.
Fears have been abated with a cleansing tide.
My worries settle like dust to rest,
As they no longer have the need to try and hide.
My friendships remain blessed,
as they nourish a thirsty soul inside.

Through poetry I've dealt with the trials,
That life, destiny or fate would deal.
It has helped me endure the lengthy miles.
And has opened my eyes to what I feel.
But there is one whose words are like smiles,
from the face of love, that enriches and heals.
I will be there for her,
as she makes me secure and whole.
She offers inspiration...
A light in the tunnel... A goal.
There is so much she has given me,
replacing the many things that life did steal.
I owe her more than a debt of gratitude,
I owe my friendship to one Joyce O'Neal.
